My new favorite quote....

"It would seem that something which means poverty, disorder and violence every single day should be avoided entirely, but the desire to beget children is a natural urge." ~Phyllis Diller

I love it so much I'm thinking of either cross-stitching it and then framing it or using my print shop software to make a fancy looking print to frame. Seriously this quote says it all, especially if you have my three kids in your house all day long every day!!! I mean I love them with all that I am, but dang if I don't rethink why I thought it was a good idea to procreate........

Mother's shouldn't be allowed to get sick

I think that once you give birth that your immune system should go into overdrive and prevent you from ever getting sick. And for those who adopt, you could get a shot that would do the same thing. But seriously, mother's shouldn't be allowed to ever get sick!!! It is so hard to be a mother who is sick and still have to take care of your house and children. Working mothers have a small advantage when it comes to getting sick, they already have some sort of day care available to them so if they are sick they can still take the kids to day care and then come home and rest. Not so for us stay-at-home moms! Nope we still have our kids around to take care of and for some reason our dear sweet hubby's don't seem to think it's all that important to take a day off so they can help out.
Currently I have a very nasty cold, that has me wanting to just curl up and not do a dang thing, but if I don't who will??? Now I don't think my dear sweet hubby should stay home for just a cold, but a few months ago when I had the flu, oh boy do I wish my dear sweet hubby had stayed home. Because I was pretty much laid up in bed, unable to do much but stare blankly at the TV, my kids had free range of the house. So my youngest, Little Man, got a hold of a red permanent marker and decorated a half wall, the tile and grout and the kitchen table and one chair!!! Now I was able to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the table and chair and then I repainted the half wall to cover up the marker on there, but the grout is a different story. It's still red to this day and we'll probably have to remove the grout somehow and re-grout that area, but then it won't math the rest of the kitchen grout, which has all turned a nice shade of brown, when it's supposed to be an off white. So if dear sweet hubby has stayed home that day, then we wouldn't have red grout, but oh well, hindsight's worth it's weight in gold, right???
But back to my argument about mom's not being allowed to get sick. I guess I can't really complain because I do have a pretty hardy immune system but this cold has kicked my butt so badly that it makes me wish my immune system was invincible!!! I've kind of been able to keep up with the daily tasks that keep the household running and not completely taken over by the mess and clutter we create each day, but dang, I just know that when I am finally feeling better I'm gonna have a lot of things I'm gonna want to do to make the house how I think it should be. Maybe I'll feel better in time for the weekend, so I can have two whole days to whip my house back into shape!!!!

I'm cold!!!!

Dang it, I'm C-O-L-D!!!!
I'm tired of having a nice day one day and then waking up the next to cold temps or snow!!! Geesh enough is enough, people! I'm not sure as to why it is this year that the cold and snowy weather is getting to me so much, I mean this is like our 6th winter here, but for some reason I am so ready for it to end and the nice warm weather to come.
Now I'm sure if you check back with me in the middle of summer I'll be complaining about the hot weather and wanting it to cool down, but right now I'd give anything for a nice 80*-90* day! Maybe I'm experiencing a bit of cabin fever as the cold weather means that the kids and the dog all stay inside, whereas in the nice weather they all stay outside, which is much nicer for me most days.
What I want to know is why there is so much talk about global warming if we keep getting this blasted cold weather??? I know some environmentalists would have a nice reasonable answer for me, but dang it, it sure doesn't make much sense to me some days.
I guess all my moaning and groaning fit in with the old adage "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence", but if we can't complain about the weather what can we complain about???????????

Why is it some days time seems to fly by but others it seems to just creep? Today I've been putzing around the house, do a little of this and a little of that but is time going as fast as it did yesterday? Nope. Yesterday I was busy cleaning for a jewelry party I had at the house last night, so I was always on the go, but still I don't think I was anymore busy than I am today. I mean so far I've cleaned the kitchen, worked on laundry and continued my quest to shred a huge pile of old paperwork. Granted in between such activities I've done a couple of puzzles with my two kiddos, eaten lunch and read and article in a magazine, but still the day seems to drag on. I mean it feels like I should be leaving to pick up my oldest from school, but it's only 1:40 and I still have an hour and 20 minutes before I need to leave.
I dunno maybe it's all about my mood instead of time really. I'm in one of those moods where I'm not really in the mood to do anything, but I have stuff I have to do, so I do a little of this and a little of that. Maybe if I had a purpose and a deadline to everything I did, like yesterday, then maybe time would fly much faster.
Boy even this post seems to be taking much longer. I keep looking out the window instead of typing. Well I guess I'll sign off as I seem to lack any real focus on this post........
